One of the signature pavilions at Expo Osaka is the Kawamori Pavilion, designed by the office Shogo Onodera. It stands out for its bold, stacked-box design but this architectural form is more than just visually striking – it’s thoughtfully designed to create shade and enhance natural airflow, improving comfort for visitors exploring the surrounding outdoor exhibits.
At henrik●innovation we contributed to this experience by analyzing outdoor comfort using the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI). This scientific index evaluates how people actually feel in outdoor environments by factoring in elements such as solar radiation, surface heat, air temperature, humidity, and wind speed.
We hope our work helps make your visit to the Expo even more enjoyable and comfortable.
Make sure to experience the exhibition before it wraps up on October 13, 2025!
